Industry Survey Results on Improving Production Practices

Presented by Keith FullerProduction ConsultantFuller Game Production, LLC

November 2nd11:15 - 12:15Room : Lachine-Lasalle

In March 2011, Keith Fuller conducted an industry-wide survey of production practices, inviting all manner of production staff to participate. A full analysis including follow-up with voluntarily non-anonymous participants is the focus of this session. He will provide a straightforward rundown of the results, but more importantly, will invite attendees to participate in discussing what the meta-results of the survey might be. What does the participation rate of the study indicate? Is there any correlation with the voluntary non-anonymity rate? What does it mean about industry practices in general that you have probably never heard of someone running a study like this?

Learning Objectives

- Which of the eight categories of studio production is most widely viewed as an area of success by the production personnel?

- How much do producers feel their studio’s success would improve if one particular aspect of production was improved as much as possible?

- What steps have studios taken to improve their production?
