Presented by Robert MoodiePrincipal Tech ArtistTHQ Montreal

November 2nd14:45 - 15:45Room : MRHCSL

How do you get the best of movies and games to create transmedia entertainment? We are at a point where the technical and graphical limits for the current generation of consoles are becoming more and more evident. In order for us to achieve the quality standards expected for a true AAA title, it is necessary to ensure state-of-the art production methodology is used. This is why we use the best movie and video game techniques at THQ Montreal to use them with all our studio workflows. From the acting and character animation in cinematics, to the focus on image quality and fidelity at all stages of the pipeline, we are pushing the limits of video game production techniques and methods.

Learning Objectives

- How to leverage the power of data-centric, granular workflows; no more scene files!

- Maintaining image and color fidelity through the entire pipeline; formats, bit depths, gamma and compression.

- Finaling video games with a film-maker eye; post-processing done right.
