It’s one thing to instrument your game with analytics hooks in order to build a database of information about your players’ behaviors and patterns, and it’s a whole different thing to methodically analyze that data in order to make smart decisions about your live products. In this talk, Caryl Shaw will go over the metrics that she reviews every morning over coffee in order to plan and execute real-time business and design plans. Additionally, she will talk about her real-world experience of running live games for ngmoco:) by combining the science of metrics and the art of game development.

About Caryl Shaw

Caryl Shaw is currently an Executive Producer at ngmoco in San Francisco, California and is currently working on an unannounced project. Most recently she ran a 1st Party Studio for ngmoco and was responsible for managing multiple live iPhone and iPad games as businesses. Prior to ngmoco, Caryl worked at EA/Maxis as the Lead Online Producer for Spore and as the Online Manager for the launch of The Sims 2. And back in the first dot-com boom, she worked at a variety of internet start-ups managing online communities. Her favorite bourbon is Woodford Reserve.
