Yay, We’re Alive! Now Let the Real Work Begin on City of Wonder

Presented by Andrée-Anne Boisvert and Patrick Hsieh Associate Producer and Senior ProducerPlaydom

November 1st16:00 - 17:00Room : Lachine-Lasalle

City of Wonder is by now what we in the social gaming industry call “old.” It has been on Facebook for almost a year now, peaked at 10.7M of monthly users, and is still up and running at around 4M of monthly users. The city builder was developed and is maintained by Disney/Playdom’s Studio24, in Palo Alto and Bangalore. When you launch an online free-to-play social game, the most stressful moment is usually when you flip the switch and make it live. What happens afterwards is, well, an afterthought. What is Playdom’s production strategy to ensure that the game and its users stay active, engaged, and, last but not least, keep paying? In this conference, Patrick and Andrée-Anne will talk about trying to maintain a good user experience for veteran and new players. You will hear about City of Wonder’s hits, misses and real life drama.

Learning Objectives
- Do’s and don’ts on content releases schedules, new in-games items and features for user reactivation.
- Have a more efficient relationship with analytics.
- Know how and when to listen to your hardcore community, and build new features around their feedback.
